Drew's students were apart of the Go Green program lead by Mr. Greenberg. The program consisted of a complication of eight stations to show the variety of recycling and upcycling that takes place in Drew's sustainability program.
The students and staff work very hard to keep items out of landfills by recycling every week and upcycling to make plarn (a new type of yarn made form plastic). With this material the student’s make mats and upcycle materials to make pillows for the homeless.
The Go Green Team is currently taking bottle caps and making a mosaic of all the different color caps. They are also creating a 3-D lettering of the word "DREW" that will be mounted on a wall by the office.
These are just some of the projects/activities that the Go Green Team does in the sustainability vocational program to help the students obtain a better sense of keeping the community clean and also learning new valuable skills.
