Congratulations to our Educators of the Year: In an annual luncheon celebration, DPSCD recognized our top Educators for the 2023-24 school year. Held at the historic GEM Theatre, DPSCD recognized teachers, paraprofessionals, and school support staff, as well as school and district-based administrators who embody the district’s core values beyond their day-to-day efforts. Parent Academy Workshop- Early-On: What Is It and What Are the Benefits: The Office of Exceptional Student Education is hosting a course this week, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Come and learn in this tell-all session about many skill sets that we offer your student. New Dual Enrollment Opportunity for High School Students: We're excited to announce a new dual enrollment partnership with Henry Ford Community College (HFCC). Three new pathways will be available to DPSCD students in Business Administration, CISCO Certified Network Associate, and Pre-Elementary Education. Students can earn an associate's degree in all pathways. Join HFCC virtual Enrollment Session Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. via Teams, so families can learn more about these courses and how to register for the fall semester which begins Thursday, August 22, 2024. Meet Us on the Block this Week! Join us this Thursday, July 18 for Summer on the Block! Families can participate in a variety of activities, while learning more about DPSCD’s programs. On-site enrollment will be available for all schools as well as information regarding careers within the district. Music and food will be provided along with exciting raffle prizes and giveaways. Summer on the Block will take place at Marion Law Academy, 19411 Cliff St, Detroit, MI 48234 from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. and Marquette Elementary-Middle School, 6145 Canyon St, Detroit, MI 48224 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. For more information visit Detroitk12.org/face.
