It was great to see the smiling faces of Blackwell's fifth graders. The students were able to visit the Michigan Science Center, December 3, 2019 and experience hands-on science. The students participated in an electricity demonstration at DTE Energy Sparks Theater where they reviewed the stages of matter, discussed magnets and the polar ends and even discovered static electricity. In addition, the students moved to the Chrysler Science Stage and learned about solvents, solutions and chemicals that react with one another. The students were astonished to see fire being applied to a dollar without being burned. This was a fantastic trip and it really allowed our students to immerse themselves in Science the STEM activities.
