At Blackwell we offer your child S.T.E.A.M. Wing, Academic Games, Chess Club, Book Club, Writing Labs, and Sports. We invite you to enroll now so that your child can experience a positive, progressive environment for education, creativity, and innovation.

We’d love to have you as a member of the Blackwell family!

How to Enroll

Catherine C. Blackwell Institute will be open (9a.m. to 3:30p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning June 24 – August 23)

What to bring:

  • Parent/Guardian Photo ID
  • Proof of Address (two forms)
  • Student’s Birth Certificate
  • Student’s immunization record
  • Student’s transcript/most recent report card

Acceptable forms of Proof of Address:

  • Driver's license
  • Detroit ID
  • Utility bill
  • W-2
  • Pay stub
  • Official government mail
  • Public Assistance documents

Pop Up Enrollment Centers

Detroit Public Schools Community District will operate six Pop-Up Enrollment centers across the city. Don’t wait until September to enroll! Secure your child’s seat by dropping into a Pop Up Enrollment Center near you to take care of your enrollment needs.

The centers are one-stop locations for enrolling children in school for the 2019-20 school year, regardless of their grade. Learn how to apply for application schools and examination high schools.
