Check Out Five Things You Need to Know This Week!
Detroit Public Schools Community District buildings will be open Monday, January 31, 2022, for in-person learning. We are excited to welcome our staff and students back in person. We missed everyone. We are committed to adhering to safety measures, as we will have plenty of love flowing through the doors, halls, and in the classrooms. We have a comprehensive frequently asked questions document for you to review with your family and make sure you also review the new CDC guidelines. We will use #DeterminedtoRise as we get back to in person. Let us know on social media how you are Rising Up with DPSCD!
Determined to Rise: Second First Day of School Jan. 31 With the return of in-person learning, all #DPSCD school buildings will follow safety protocols: masks, social distancing, and daily temperature checks. As a reminder, all in-person learning students are required to participate in COVID-19 testing. For testing, a one-time parental consent registration is required and is due January 31. For return to school details, COVID testing and Get the Vax vaccination information, please visit the District website homepage.
The Expect Respect Character Trait for February is Self-Control: Families, students, and staff, take time this month to gain a deeper understanding of self-control and what it means while in school, with your family and friends. For example, in the morning when you may not feel like talking, make sure you exercise self-control before you start your day with a negative attitude. What other ways can you exercise self-control?
Pledge cards below to recommit to Expect Respect:
- Expect Respect Student Pledge Card
- Expect Respect Staff Pledge Card
- Expect Respect Parent/Stakeholder Pledge Card
Extra kudos if you post and tag @detroitk12 with your example of self-control.
