PBIS Fun in STEM

STEM Students Celebrate PBIS Fun Friday!

At Brenda Scott Academy, students in Mrs. May’s STEM class enjoyed an exciting PBIS Fun Friday filled with creativity and hands-on learning. The classroom buzzed with energy as students explored different STEM centers, each one offering a new challenge and a chance to have fun while learning.

One group built incredible designs with LEGO bricks, creating bridges, cars, and towers that reached for the sky. Nearby, other students used magnetic blocks to test their engineering skills, experimenting with balance and structure. In the computer lab, students logged onto Scratch, where they coded colorful animations and mini-games, showing off the programming skills they’ve been building all year.

Mrs. May explained that Fun Friday is something students earn each week through hard work and responsibility. “Our STEM scholars earn this time by completing projects like coding challenges, 3-D printing models, computer science lessons, and K’Nex engineering builds,” she said proudly. “It’s their reward for showing effort, teamwork, and creativity.”

The afternoon was filled with laughter, collaboration, and discovery—exactly what STEM is all about. Students left the room smiling, already looking forward to next week’s challenges and the chance to earn another Fun Friday in Mrs. May’s class.
