Breaking News: Congratulations to the Regional Teacher of the Year announced by MDE today -- Region 10: Candice Jackson, a third-grade teacher at DPSCD's Mann Learning Community, is recognized by the State for doing her part to help students rise!

PSAT, SAT and ACT Testing This Week: Teachers, staff, parents, and community, encourage your students and children to do their best and prepare for the College Board SAT starting this week! Get enough sleep, prepare and good luck!

Parent Academy Workshops This Week: This week’s Parent Academy workshop highlights include an overview of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K-12 Standards Based Report Card that will be used for students on a course of study for a certificate of completion. This session will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. In addition, led by the Office of Enrollment, 8th grade students and families are invited to a webinar to learn more about DPSCD’s six Examination High Schools, including how to apply for admission for fall 2023. Congratulations to Tracy Ortiz, Middle School Science Teacher of the Year: Tracy Ortiz is named and awarded the 2023 Michigan State Teachers Association (MSTA) Middle School Teacher of the Year. A science teacher at Clippert Academy, Mrs. Ortiz is known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for teaching; her students feel loved, challenged, and prepared. She is continuing to inspire and empower future generations of scientists. Congratulations!

Be Part of the Tyrone E. Winfrey Come Home Alumni Weekend May 18-May 20, 2023: The second annual Come Home Weekend is scheduled May 18-May 20, 2023. Highlights include An Evening of Fine Arts at the Fox Theatre on May 18, Alumni School Visits on May 19 and Alumni “Meet and Greet” Reception at the Motown Museum, also on May 19, and the Come Home Alumni Hall of Fame Gala on May 20.
