Exceptional Student Education (ESE) This Week: ESE parents and families, the next ESE Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting is set for Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Also, led by the ESE Office of Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), there will be a book study of Bright, Talented and Black, A Guide for Families of Black Gifted Learners, by Dr. Joy Lawson Davis on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. For information on these and other ESE related activities and events, please visit 

Let’s Read Volunteer Training Session Thursday, February 16, 2023, 5 p.m.-6 p.m. DPSCD is building a culture of literacy for its students. You can help by signing up as a Let’s Read volunteer. Join us for a volunteer training session on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 5 p.m.- 6 p.m. at the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) office, located at 16164 Asbury Park, Room 109, in Detroit, 48235. Please do your part to help students rise by becoming a Let’s Read Volunteer! 

Bethune Leads Wave of DPSCD Schools Exiting State MDE List: Thanks to its school culture and regular attendance, Bethune and more than 30 other DPSCD schools have exited the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) lowest performing list. Read how their progress includes improvements in math and reading.
