HBCU Door Contest Inspires Bow School Students
Bow School was abuzz with creativity and cultural appreciation during the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Door Contest, sponsored by Mr. Whittley. The event aimed to spark student interest in HBCUs while fostering artistic expression.
Throughout the week preceding the contest, students at Bow School transformed classroom doors into vibrant displays of HBCU pride and history. Each door became a canvas for showcasing iconic landmarks, influential figures, and the rich heritage of HBCUs.
Mr. Whittley, the event's sponsor, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "The HBCU Door Contest was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about the significant contributions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It was inspiring to witness their creativity and passion for this cultural celebration."
While only a few doors could claim top honors, all participants left with a deeper appreciation for the legacy and contributions of HBCUs. The event served as a reminder of the transformative power of education to unite communities and inspire future generations.
