DPSCD Virtual School Eligibility Requirements 2021-22
DPSCD Virtual School Eligibility Requirements 2021-22
Dear Students and Parents,
For the upcoming school year, the District Office is creating a virtual school for K-12 students. The virtual school is an option for students that want to remain in the district but aren’t comfortable returning to their school for in-person learning. Even though this is an option for all students, there are eligibility requirements. Please be aware that virtual classes will not be offered by individual schools. The following requirements are below:
- Students must not have been chronically absent for the 20-21 school year
- Students must have passed all of their classes
- An exception will only be made based on medical reasons with a medical waiver
The District will allow eligible students (not chronically absent, passed all core classes, or need a medical waiver) to sign up individually or separately for the district’s virtual school. Here is the survey link for students and families to sign up for virtual school. The link will identify each student and the school they are currently enrolled in. This link will be accessible on our website, social media, TEAMS platform, and Schoology platform.
However, students who would like virtual school and are in an ESE, ELL, dual language, Montessori, CTE, or advanced high school program would access instruction through their home school teacher(s) through Teams and the regular teacher(s).
We are encouraging all BCHS students to return to the building in the Fall of the 21-22 school year and hope to see everyone back! We believe students will be most successful with the in-person learning model and with everyone back, we will continue to build a community of successful learners!
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school at 313-494-1805 or visit our social media or school website for additional and updated information.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sean Lively
