DPSCD School Spotlight of the Week: We are proud to celebrate the exceptional achievement of the Foreign Language Immersion and Cultural Studies School (FLICS) in French language education. FLICS has earned the prestigious LabelFrancÉducation award from the French government, recognizing its first and second grade French classrooms. This honor celebrates the school’s commitment to providing high-quality French dual immersion instruction. FLICS is the first school in Michigan to receive this honor. 2024 Division 1 State Champions: Congratulations to Cass Technical High School Football Team for winning the Division 1 State Championship on Saturday, November 30 at Ford Field. Their hard work and dedication led to a 42-20 victory against Hudsonville. Cass Tech reclaims Division 1 state championship after an eight-year gap. We are #DPSCDProud of you!

Parent Academy Workshop- FAFSA Overview: DPSCD Families, join us Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at The School at Marygrove High School 8425 W. McNichols Detroit, MI 48221 for the FAFSA workshop that will assist students with understanding the importance of the Federal Student Aid Application process. This workshop begins at 4 p.m. and will focus on the deadlines and debunk popular myths about FAFSA. View the catalog to learn more about additional workshops and events happening this week.

Come Get Your Problem Solving on at Math in the D: Have you ever wondered how math applies to your life? Are you curious how different professionals utilize math in their careers? Join The Office of Mathematics for our upcoming Math in the D session on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. High School students grades 9-12 will receive a $25 gift card for attending this session. Middle of the Year District Assessment Window Opened Today: DPSCD Students and Families, the middle of year assessment window opened today Monday, December 02, 2024. Please make sure your students get adequate rest and a nutritious breakfast. Students will take benchmark assessments in Math, Reading, Science, and/or Social Studies based on their grade. These assessments help teachers better understand your student’s academic progress. For more information, please contact your school directly.
