Whole Child Support and Best Practices: DPSCD reminds students and their families of the September Expect Respect Character Trait Responsibility and the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Competency Self-Management. By establishing household norms such as helping with chores or talking with your student about how to make responsible decisions, DPSCD encourages families to pledge and commit to grade level Responsibility activities this month. PowerSchool for Guardians-Navigating the Public Portal: Access the Parent Portal to view key student information including grades, attendance, teacher contact information and report cards. Join this session Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Explore the full list of Parent Academy Workshops available this week.

Stay Connected and Update Your Contact Information: Families, we encourage you to complete your students Back-to-School packet and update your address, phone number, and email address. If you have students attending multiple schools, please ensure your contact information is updated at each school. Please see directions below to opt into the Robo call system.

Beginning of the year testing window opens Monday, September 9, 2024. These assessments provide teachers with important information about what students know and can do as they start the school year.

    • i-Ready Reading: K-8th, select 9th-11th students
    • i-Ready Math: K-8th students
    • Science: 5th and 8th grade students
    • Social Studies: 5th and 8th grade students
    • End-of-Course Assessments: 9th-12th grade students
