Detroit Public Schools Community District Community Engagement Team at Historic Eastern Market: The Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) Community Engagement Team is thrilled to announce their return for another summer of community engagement at the Historic Eastern Market! You can find the team in Shed #5 from 9 AM to 3 PM every Sunday for the next 15 weeks. Our dedicated Community Engagement Leaders (CELs) will be on-site to share the “Good News” about the District and its initiatives. They are ready to answer your questions and assist with the recruitment of students, staff, volunteers, and alumni. Join us and support our community—because when students rise, we all rise! Parent Academy Workshop- Navigating the Parent Portal: Student Information System (SIS) Training and Support is hosting a course this week. Parents will learn how to navigate the PowerSchool Parent Portal to view key student data including grades, attendance, teacher contact information, and report cards. Join us for Summer on the Block: Families, join the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team Thursday, June 27, 2024, for Summer on the Block. There are two locations and times to fit your schedule: Roberto Clemente Learning Academy, 1551 Beard St. Detroit, MI 48209, 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. and Sampson-Webber Leadership Academy, 4700 Tireman St. Detroit MI 48204, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. There will be free food, giveaways, fun activities for the children as well as educational summer bridge learning resources, and enrollment support. If you have children attending multiple schools, please ensure your contact information is updated at each school. Please see directions below to opt into the Robo call system.
