DPSCD Honors Martin Luther King Jr. by Serving Community
DPSCD staff will participate in a Day of Service under the initiative DPSCD Cares on Monday, January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Forty schools will participate in door knocking, asking families and students “Are You Ok?.” Monday’s campaign is part of larger ongoing engagement initiative the District is designing to stay connected to families and students during this pandemic. As we launch our “Are you OK?” campaign, each participating school will work with a small group to conduct home visits to at least 10 homes.
In alignment with January's Expect Respect character trait, "Citizenship," as an act of service, our staff will continue the canvassing campaign that started Tuesday, January 12, through Friday, January 29. The District aims to reach 3,000 students by mid-February.
