Teaching Our Students to Rise at DPSCD
Today, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) welcomes its teachers back for an exciting school year! This year is especially unique as DPSCD now has a district-wide, standards-aligned K-12 curriculum, with our high schools implementing their new ELA and math curriculum this fall.
DPSCD has more than 5,000 teachers from diverse backgrounds who are committed to educating our students. This summer, DPSCD asked teachers “why they teach,” and their responses are heart-felt and embody our core values of what it means to be an educator. Check out the video below!
On behalf of your fellow staff, we look forward to supporting our teachers this year to impact the rise of our students! #StudentsRise

Our teachers are tenacious, passionate and strive for excellence daily. DPSCD staff are dedicated to transforming school culture and creating a space where our educators will grow through hands-on professional development courses and yearly opportunities to guide educators who wish to take on leadership roles.
