Summer Activities for Adult Education

Even though the last day of school for students is June 20th, there will still be plenty of things to do for our Adult Education students and their families during the summer months.

We have been holding Integrated Educational Traning (IET)--Customer Call Center classes since May 20 and they will continue to be held through June 27th.  We will also have another session of these classes beginning on August 20th. Classes will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 9:00 am to 1 pm. Participants who complete the program and their high school diploma or GED will receive job placement, with pay beginning at $12 per hour. Anyone interested can come to the West Campus to register between 10 am and 1 pm.

In addition, we have been chosen as one of the schools to host "DPSCD Summer on the Block" as a venture through the district's Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE).  On July 18th, we will be having summer enrichment, family fun, employment opportunities, onsite enrollment opportunities, food, giveaways and raffles.

Anyone still wishing to take a GED test can do so over the summer at the West Campus as well.  Testing will take place twice a week, Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning July 12th all the way up until August 14th. There will be no testing on June 21, June 28, July 5, August 16, August 23, or August 30.

Finally, the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) will be holding weekly summer parent workshops, in addition to other programming.

All events will be held at the Adult Education Center-West Campus, located at 16164 Asbury Park. For more information, call the school at (313) 852-1089.
