Young Adult Author John Wells Inspires Detroit Lions Academy Students on March 1st with a Captivating Literary Event

On Friday, March 1st, students at DLA received an exciting visit from young adult author John Wells III. Mr. Wells is the author of six young adult fantasy stories and is in the process of speaking with television producers to create a show out of one of his novels. During this visit, students deepened their understanding about the core elements of writing fiction and fantasy including the driving elements of characters, plot, and building a story line. Students and faculty even had the chance to help bring Wells’ novel, “The Last Warrior Angel” to life by acting as a live foley and creating sound effects of the story as Mr. Wells read! Students represented DLA and ensured that Mr. Wells had a great visit, too!
