NDEO Visits Spain School

On October 3, 2025, Spain School had the honor of welcoming members of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) as part of their annual conference held in Detroit, October 3–6. During their school tour of Detroit Public Schools, NDEO representatives visited Spain to learn more about the integration of the arts in education. They were warmly greeted by Principal Cannon and enjoyed a special presentation from teacher Nakia Lockhart, who leads Spain’s afterschool dance program. The visit included engaging discussions about the role of performing arts and dance in public education, highlighting how programs like Spain’s inspire creativity, discipline, and self-expression among students.
