Lady Lions Battle to the Second Round of Playoffs

The Lady Lions basketball team made history this season with their first winning record and playoff appearance since the 2005-2006 school year. The team concluded their season today in the second round of the playoffs after a hard-fought game against Palmer Park. Despite the loss, the Lady Lions showcased incredible determination and skill, finishing with an impressive 5-2 record.

The SWA girls advanced to the second round after a thrilling victory over Bethune in the first round of the playoffs. Amiyah Lee was a standout performer, leading the team with a combined total of 14 points and 13 rebounds in both playoff games. Her efforts, along with the contribution from the entire roster, were instrumental in the team's success this season.

This season marked a turning point for the Lady Lions, who overcame challenges to achieve a winning record and reach the playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades. The players' growth, resilience, and teamwork have set a new standard for the program.

6-8 Grade Team Roster:

8th Grade: Amiyah Lee, Brianna Henderson, London West, Raquel Christian-London, Zalisa Murrell, and Saniay Parker.

7th Grade: Miangel Mitchell and Bianca Henry

6th Grade: Chassidy Johnson
