2023 Black History Month Celebration
On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, Roberto Clemente closed out Black History Month with an amazing Program. The 4th graders from Ms. Cannon’s classroom started the program with a welcome song from Nigeria called “Funga Alafia”, which means greetings and blessings. The 5th graders from Mrs. McCasey’s morning class presented famous African American people who have made great contributions worldwide. The 5th graders from Mrs. McCasey’s afternoon class presented “Made in Michigan: Notable African Americans Born in Michigan”. A slide show was also presented with all the doors and bulletin boards that were decorated throughout the school, highlighting notable African Americans. Our special guest performers were very talented students from Spain Elementary Middle School. They did an amazing job singing, dancing, and presenting monologues. It was amazing to see the great things that another school within our great district is doing. As we mark the end of Black History Month, let us remember that words have power, and your voice can change the world!
