On Friday, October 3rd, the Detroit Tigers organization visited Roberto Clemente Learning Academy to celebrate all 3rd through 5th grade students who achieved perfect attendance for the month of September. Our school was specially chosen for this exciting event because of our outstanding attendance rates!

Students had an unforgettable afternoon meeting Paws, the Tigers’ beloved mascot, and receiving free Tigers swag to commemorate their achievement. The celebration included two fun, interactive activities. In one, students played wiffle ball, learned the rules of baseball, and practiced teamwork. In the other, students created colorful artwork that would be shared with the Detroit Tigers before their first game in the division series. Six talented students were selected for having the best artwork and received special prizes for their creativity and effort. Students also got to enjoy airbrush tattoos, adding an extra touch of fun to an already exciting day.

This special visit not only rewarded students for their commitment to coming to school every day but also reminded everyone of the importance of attendance, teamwork, and school pride.
