DPSCD Student Spotlight of the Week: Masiah Glasker, a junior at Cass Technical High School, is the first girl wrestler to record a win versus another school in Cass Tech history. Masiah was able to pin her opponent at the Tri County girl's tournament. Congratulations to Masiah on her accomplishment we are DPSCD Proud of you. Come watch the District's boys and girls wrestling team compete this Wednesday January 15, 2025.
Parent Academy Workshop - Mental Health Check-In: The DPSCD Board members invites DPSCD family members for a fun mental health check-in prior to the regular monthly board meeting. Join us Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Senior High School 3200 E. Lafayette Detroit MI 48207, to get your mental health refresh for the new year. Virtual orientation for NEW and returning Adult Education students: The Adult Education Program will host a virtual orientation session for new and returning students Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The session will be from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Upon registration completion, a link will be provided to the virtual session. Contact your career coach if you have any questions. Exceptional Student Education Parent Advisory Meeting: Join us Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. for the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting. The PAC’s mission is to empower parents, guardians, and grandparents of students with an active individualized education program (IEP) with knowledge as it relates to their participation in the special education process, delivery of services, and funding for schools. In addition, members will work with key stakeholders to make decisions and recommendations regarding compliance, parent and community involvement, and ongoing issues related to special education.
