Thanksgiving Holiday is this week: A reminder that schools will be closed for the holiday starting on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, and resume on Monday, November 28, 2022. Detroit Public Schools Community District wishes our students, families, staff, stakeholders, and the community a happy, restful, and safe Thanksgiving holiday weekend! 

Parent Listening Session is Tuesday, November 22, 2022: Please join us for the next Parent Listening Session with Dr. Vitti and Board Member Vaughn at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. This is your chance to provide input on your child’s educational experience with DPSCD and get status updates on developments across our school district.  

Behavioral Health Support During Thanksgiving Break: Even though DPSCD’s Behavioral Health Hotline will be closed during our holiday break, behavioral health support is available for our students, families, and staff through the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network 24 Hour Helpline at 800-241-4949; TTY: 800-603-1044. DPSCD’s Behavioral Health Hotline, staffed with our school social workers, will return to its normal Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m.-8 p.m. operating schedule on Monday, November 28, 2022.  

Exam High School Application Deadline is Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. If you are applying to DPSCD’s Examination High Schools, the Round 1 application deadline is this Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. More information on DPSCD’s six Examination High Schools can be found at https://www.detroitk12.org/examschools 

December Regular Board of Education Meeting is Tuesday, December 6, 2022: Save the date for the next Regular Board of Education meeting that will now be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at Western International High School, 1500 Scotten in Detroit 48209. Information on other upcoming Board of Education meetings in December can be found on the DPSCD home page calendar at www.detroitk12.org as well as on the Board of Education page at detroitk12.org/board
