Farewell Mrs. Lisa Harrison

Mrs. Harrison is a graduate of Mumford High School, class of 1988. After graduating from Mumford, Mrs. Harrison continued her education, attending Oakland University where she earned a BA degree in Communications and became a member of the first African American Sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She immediately went on to further her education and attended The University of Detroit Mercy. She completed both her MA degree in Curriculum and Instruction while earning her teacher certificate in secondary education. She went on to work her entire career as an English Teacher in Detroit Public Schools. Within her 30 years of service, she has taught at Barbour Magnet Middle school, Henry Ford High school, Northwestern High school, East English Village Preparatory Academy and at both the old and new Mumford High Schools. Mrs. Harrison will be retiring in June 2024 after 30 years of dedicated service to Detroit Public Community District.  Mrs. Harrison will retire in style and will truly be missed.
