DPSCD Staff Spotlight of the Week: Assistant Superintendent Lohren Nzoma-Carter won the Administrator of the Year award at the NAGC 2024 Conference for her outstanding impact on gifted education in Michigan. Four DPSCD teachers were awarded the Javits-Frasier Scholarship Award: Mallory Aferi at Golightly Education Center, Innocent Duval and Brandon Frazier at FLICS, and Cassidy Loridon at Bennett Elementary. These teachers won the award based on their commitment to gifted education and are receiving ongoing training, supported by scholarships, in instructional practices that support our gifted and twice-exceptional learners. Report Card Issue Date Change: Due to the Districtwide closures on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, we will be extending the grade verification and report card release timeline to afford teachers and administrators sufficient time to submit complete and accurate grades. Report cards will be printed and distributed to families on Tuesday, January 28. If you have questions regarding the grade verification and report card release process, then please work with your building’s SIS lead or contact info.sis@detroitk12.org.
