Greetings Mann Family,

I pray that everyone is enjoying a safe summer.  We are excited about the new school year even with the challenges it brings. We welcome back the SOAR Detroit Tutoring Program, our Cody-Rouge Partnership, Oakpointe Volunteers.  We are also excited to bring the Boy Scouts of America to Mann this year!

In addition to our very rigorous Reading (EL Learning) and Math (Eureka), Science, Social Studies curriculum, and electives, we are planning many extracurricular offerings including but not limited to: Academic Games, Chess, Coding, Basketball, Dance, Drama, Cheerleading, and the Good News Club. Tutoring at every grade level will also be available, and because of the CARES Act funding received by the federal government, we anticipate several new after-school offerings provided by outside vendors. So, be on the lookout for newsletters, Class DOJO announcements, and robocalls with some exciting programming this year!

As we prepare for the start of school, which is Tuesday, September 7th, we will host one (1) virtual Parent Information Session this week. The virtual session is Friday, September 3, 2021, at 2:00 pm. Please use the following link to access the session: Mann Parent Orientation 2021-2022

Please know that we will continue to follow CDC guidelines and district mandates and strict COVID-19 safety measures will be followed. Access to the building by anyone other than students will still be limited. Everyone entering the building must wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, answer symptoms check questions, and submit to a temperature screening. There are NO EXCEPTIONS! However, there will be limited volunteer opportunities this year. To do so, you must apply on the district website. Please call the school office if you are interested.

As you prepare for the new school year, we want to share some information that will help you get off to a great start!

Educationally yours,

Ms. Lakeisha Simpson
