The Detroit Public Schools Community District Homework Hotline is a free resource available for all DPSCD students that encourages outstanding achievement by giving students an additional platform to ask for help and emphasize problem solving skills. Students and families can call in for help with Literacy and/or Math homework. The Homework Hotline is provided in partnership with United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
The Homework Hotline will be offered during the academic year on Monday – Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Homework Hotline will not operate on days that schools are closed for holidays. Please view our 2019-2020 Academic Calendar for dates.
Due to COVID-19, the Homework Hotline will offer hours during the day for our Mental Health Support line and ESE line. Both lines will operate Monday - Thursday from 9:00am - 4:00pm and Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm. The Mental Health Support line will also operate Monday - Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
Students and families can call in for help with ELA and Math homework on Monday - Thursday from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. These tutors will not be available during daytime hours.
The Mental Health Support line is also available to provide online counseling to students and parents and referrals for additional services.
The Homework Hotline will close for the summer starting Friday, June 19th.

In accordance with MDE guidance and requirements for students with IEPs, DPSCD will have ESE (certified Special Education Teachers) available via the Homework Hotline.
