• Martin Luther King Jr. Senior high School promotes Academic Excellence in students. It is believed that Academic Achievement is strongly linked to positive outcomes.  Major emphasis is placed on academic performance, student attendance and test scores.  The following is a sample of the academic programs and courses offered to King High School students:

    -Honors courses in English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies

    -Advanced Placement (AP) courses in English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies

    -Academy of Finance with industry certification

    King High School also offers Dual Enrollment courses for college credit through a partnership with Wayne County Community College (WC3D)

  • CISC (Center for International Studies and Commerce)-connects high school students with the world of business and finance, offering a curriculum that covers global business, entrepreneurship, economics, accounting, marketing, and foreign languages for a global market. The CISC program includes the Academy of Finance, which provides students an opportunity to receive NAF certification.

  • MSAT (Math, Science, and Technology)-this program answers the need for students educated and skilled in the areas of math, science, and technology to meet future demands for individuals in engineering, biotech, research, medicine, and information technology.
