Candice Petross (ELA)
As Golightly Education Center’s Superintendent’s Fellow/English Language Arts Master Teacher, I lead from the classroom by supporting my peers in the EL Education curricula with the goal being increased student achievement. Using student data along with collaborative planning, co-teaching, and modeling, I offer my peers supportive strategies for best instructional practices to support student achievement. I also support my peers in our supplemental online programs (i-Ready and myON) by integrating small groups to differentiate instruction in order to meet each student’s academic needs.
Glyniss Flowers (Math K-5)
As the Master Teacher of Math for Golightly Education Center, I instruct our students on our new math curriculum, Eureka Math. Furthermore, I co-teach with our other math instructors doing one-on-one planning for lessons with them, modeling lessons for teachers, and conferencing with them after lessons for feedback. I also attend professional developments to develop skills needed to teach the curriculum. Finally, I assist the administration staff in planning for and implementing district and state testing.
