Ms. Sharon Lee
Ms. Lee is a Detroit born, raised, and educated principal. She attended Brady Elementary/Middle School and Cass Technical High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and her MBA from the University of Detroit. Ms. Lee also attended Eastern Michigan University, where she earned a Specialist Degree in Leadership/Administration. Ms. Lee has been a principal of two (2) schools, Remus Robinson Middle School and Thurgood Marshall Elementary/Middle. Ms. Lee has been the principal at Thurgood Marshall for the last eight (8) years.
Ms. Lee started this leadership journey as a Science and DACEP teacher extraordinaire, Curriculum Leader at Lessenger, Assistant Principal at Houghton Elementary and Remus Robinson. As a DACEP Teacher, she was able to write the curriculum. Ms. Lee loves children, Science, and shopping. Ms. Lee is a great leader today because of the guidance of her parents. They loved education and stress the importance of education to her daily. She stresses education to her family and staff.
Her Thurgood Marshall students are number one in her heart and she has seen so much growth. Ms. Lee’s staff is A1 and she also has seen their growth.
Prior to working in education, Ms. Lee was a District Manager for Ameritech for product development. She was given the name “buppie”. Her work experiences make her know that education is the field she loves and will stay in.
Ms. Lee believes that when students rise, we all rise.
