Mrs. Donya Odom
Mrs. Odom has served as principal of Communication and Media Arts High School (CMA), for the last eleven years. Before becoming principal she served as the assistant principal of CMA. She has been in the education field for twenty-five years, before becoming adminstrator, Mrs. Odom was a social studies teacher. She severed as part of the curriculum team that helped design the district's World History curriculum.
Mrs. Odom has been instrumental in many of the achievements of CMA, under her leadership CMA ranks third in Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD). She helped launch CMA's Media Arts program, and the JROTC program. CMA has been identified as an excellent public school by Excellent Schools Detroit. Under Mrs. Odom's leadership CMA was recognized as a bronze medal school by US News. Lastly under Mrs. Odom's leadership CMA has increased it's state average on the M-STEP.
