Achievers: Vocal female students who have mastered music and vocal techniques.
Auxiliary Team: Female students, in grades 10-12, with a GPA of 3.0 and higher must audition to be selected on the team. The Auxillary team performs with the Marching Band.
Broadcast Team: Radio and Television students who make the afternoon school announcements.
City-Wide Poets: Literary community for DSA students to explore their lives through the written and spoken word.
Debate Team: DSA students participate in debate activities that supported by the Detroit Urban Debate League
Fashion Club: An after-school program that teaches students fashion design and construction techniques.
Future Project: A national non-profit organization that supports young people—in discovering and activating their power to make change.
Ladies Let's Lead: Female led mentoring program.
Marching Band: Select DSA instrumental musicians to perform while marching. DSA students perform at parade performances and some sporting events.
MOMENtum: Teen led male mentoring program.
National Honor Society: The national organization recognizes outstanding DSA students, in grades 10-12, who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. They must complete an application and meet the requirements for admission.
National Honor Society for Dance: The National Dance Education Organization, which recognizes DSA Dance majors, in grades 10-12, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. They must be selected/recommended by a teacher.
Dance Workshop: DSA Dance majors, in grades 10-12, who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. They must pass the audition process in order to be selected for workshop.
PBIS Ambassadors: Selected students who have been trained in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to improve social, emotional and academic outcomes for all students.
Thespian Society: An honor society for DSA theatre students who meet the academic and performance requirements.
Vision: Selected DSA male vocalists who have auditioned to demonstrate their mastery of vocal music.
