Mrs. Dawn McGrady

Dwan McGrady's teaching career began in Dayton, Ohio.  After teaching for six years in the Dayton Public School system Dwan relocated to Detroit, MI and began teaching for Detroit Public Schools in 1999.  Professionally she holds degrees from Central State University (B.S.), University of Dayton (M.S.), Marygrove College (M.A.) and Wayne State University (Ed.S.)     

Dwan’s professional organizations include the NAACP, Central State University Detroit Alumni Chapter, The Detroit Urban League and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.   

Dwan’s professional excellence and notable leadership acumen have been recognized with the Teacher of the Year Award from Neighborhood Services Organization (2008) and she was also honored with the Spirit of Detroit Award (2009) for her dedication to the students in Detroit Public Schools.  She currently teaches children of special needs at Greenfield Union School.  

Dwan currently makes Detroit, Michigan her hometown.  Dwan's hobbies include traveling, reading, and working within her church and her sorority.
