Dr. Walter Richardson
Dean Richardson began his career in Detroit Public Schools as a Co-Op while attending Kettering High School. After graduating from college, he served in many capacities in various locations with the district before becoming an Attendance Agent. After serving 10 successful filled years as an Agent; he determined he was ready for another challenging opportunity. Dean Richardson decided to make the jump and assume the newly created role of Dean of Culture and Climate in 2017.
As Dean of Culture and Climate, Dean Richardson has lowered the school suspension rate, and created new programs that has improved the school’s overall climate and culture. Aside from his career accomplishments, Dean Richardson is also a career scholar with multiple degrees. He holds an Associate of Arts in Education and Business, Bachelor of Arts in Business and Psychology, a Master of Education in Special Education, Master of Business Administration, and an Education Specialist Degree. Recently, Dean Richardson completed his doctoral program. In his free time, he enjoys mentoring high school youth, listening to different genres of music, and dining at new restaurants with his lovely wife.
