Mr. Michael Mokdad

Michael Mokdad graduated from Southwestern High School in 1983 and attended Wayne State University where he majored in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on Environmental concepts. After graduating from Wayne State University, he worked as an Environmental Engineer for two years before deciding to return to Wayne State University where he earned a Master of Arts in teaching. Mr. Mokdad is currently working on his Doctorate degree in Leadership at Wayne State University.

Mr. Mokdad started teaching at the Detroit High School for the Arts as a math and science teacher. Mr. Mokdad's educational pathway includes holding a position as a Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Principal at Western International high school.  Mr. Mokdad worked as a Principal in the River Rouge School District for three years before returning home to Detroit Public Schools Community District as Principal of Henry Ford High School.

He has over 25 years of experience in the field of education and has received many honors and awards during his tenure. He has also been featured in newspaper articles and other media outlets for his work as an educator. Mr. Mokdad has a "student-first" mantra and is committed to providing opportunities to all students and improving the quality of life.
