Mr. Peter-Claver Unaegbu

Mr. Peter-Claver Unaegbu has been serving in administrative and curriculum leadership capacities for the Detroit Public Schools/ Detroit Public Schools Community District for the past nineteen years. During the last five years, he has been serving as Assistant Principal. Since 2020, he has been working as Assistant Principal at Communication & Media Arts High School (CMA) where he has played an integral part in the positive culture of learning. Prior to coming to CMA, he served in similar capacities at Osborn High School for two years and J. E. Clark Preparatory Academy for one year. Prior to being an Assistant Principal, he worked for nine years as an Instructional Specialist at the Office of Social Studies. Before that, he worked for six years as the Social Studies Department Head/ Curriculum Leader at Thomas M. Cooley High School. Prior to that, he taught Social Studies at the same high school. He started his career as a substitute teacher in the same district. So, his work in schools has come full circle.

 

Mr. Peter-Claver Unaegbu earned a Master of Arts degree in education from the University of Detroit Mercy, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University. He is passionate about helping young people to grow emotionally and intellectually, and he enjoys imparting self-discipline and serving people.
