Dear A. Philip Randolph Parents and Community,

As principal of A. Philip Randolph Career and Technical Center, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another outstanding year at Randolph. We are all excited to have students back in our programs ready to learn real life skills. It is our mission to help every child feel connected to a career pathway that will provide the “Now Impact” for the City of Detroit. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be college and career ready when they leave Randolph. At Randolph, we have great instructors who spend hours planning and creating industry activities to engage our students in learning. Our instructors utilize work-based learning experiences to make learning relevant and impactful for all students. We believe all students should complete their programs at Randolph prepared for the demands of postsecondary education, meaningful careers and effective citizenship.

This fall Randolph will feature three new programs that will continue to prepare students to compete in this is global society. The Energy Trades Program emerged out a partnership with DTE. We have added a Horticultural program as well as a revitalized Electrical program to help students increase their knowledge base and skills.

I am honored to serve as the principal of A. Philip Randolph Career and Technical Center. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, instructors and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. Please feel free to contact me at 313.494.7100 or at larry.gray@detroitk12.org

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another outstanding year at Randolph together!
