DPSCD'S New Virtual School
This year DPSCD is opening a new Virtual School, led by Principal Philip Van Hooks. The new school is a virtual option for families who are not yet prepared to attend school in person. Families are encouraged to consider the Virtual School option if their child was not chronically absent last year and passed all second-semester courses.
Students and families must commit to Virtual School for at least a full semester. Upon enrolling in the Virtual School, you will have your seat saved at your original school for one school year. Two telephone hotlines have been established for families to connect with the Virtual School. For general questions, the main school number is (313) 644-0200. For ESE (formerly special education), please direct your calls to (313) 748-6353. You can also contact the Virtual School by emailing email@example.com or visiting these frequently asked questions.
Virtual School students can take advantage of the District’s free meal program. There are four Grab and Go meal locations to service your child during the week. Grab and Go days and hours are Monday and Thursday from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.
