Thanksgiving is here and what better way to spend time than with a Thanksgiving activity. Fourth Grade students were able to pick up their Thanksgiving Gift Bags from Ms. Smith on November 25th in front of Blackwell Institute. Students received a bag with a stylus pen to use for their upcoming assignments on their Chromebooks and tablets, materials for the Turkey Cookie Project and a few sweet treats.
Students received stylus pens that came in their own gift box and reflected the colors that they mentioned in previously taken interest survey. Ms. Smith recognized the need for the students to have a stylus pen since the students will submit their assignments in Schoology and the need for the assignments to be written legibly. The stylus pen will give the students more control with their handwriting and drawing. The students’ neatness and creativity will not only be apparent in Schoology, but also in their Thanksgiving Turkey Cookie Project.
The Thanksgiving Cookie Project enables students to be creative through food with a Thanksgiving theme. The gift bags included all the materials needed to complete the project such as, Oreo cookies, Reese’s Cups, Whoppers, Candy Corn, Red, Yellow and White icing and candy eyeballs. Ms. Smith showed example pictures and produced a video through ClassDojo and Microsoft Teams to show how to construct the Turkey Cookies. Some students sent pictures of their finished products.
The sweet treats were at the bottom of the gift bag, so students can share with family members as they prepare Thanksgiving dinner.
Ms. Smith and her mom were excited to see students, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends during the Thanksgiving Gift Bag Pickup. Ms. Smith and her mom wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving.
