The fifth graders were able to have a moment of discovery as they participated in a workshop and tour of the Charles H. Wright African American Museum. The students were greeted by educators from the museum that gave detailed accounts on the African-Americans that paved the way for future generations. Many of the students were in disbelief when they discovered the hardships of slavery and the affects of the Jim Crow Laws. Students made their own signs that aligned with their personal causes or affirmations they wanted to convey.
