Covering the Food Service industry - students are introduced to basic culinary arts and services, sanitation, safety and employment opportunities. Students rotate through areas of commercial food employment, gaining hands on experience in a la cart and banquet service, hot and cold food preparation, and retail customer service. They receive point of sales training. Students continue their instruction in the culinary arts and services. Exploring gourmet cuisines and services, strengthening their basic skills and have the opportunity to gain professional experience with co-op or practicum job training. Training in computer applications as they relate to the culinary arts industry, menu writing, recipe creation and advanced point of sale instruction are included.
