The Joint Adjustment Committee is comprised of representatives of three groups: members of the labor unions or employees selected from the ranks of those being laid off, members of management of the organization and staff/representatives from the State Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth and/or Michigan Works! The Committee is facilitated through the services of a neutral chair who is an outside consultant selected by the labor and management representatives on the Committee and retained by the State of Michigan to support and guide the process.
The Joint Adjustment Committee (JAC) is a state-supported process that works to minimize the hardships of and facilitate re-employment of employees who are unemployed either as a result of large scale layoff or permanent plant closing.
