Taking a walk with your child is a perfect way to spend time together. A walk around the block or through your neighbourhood can help your child become familiar with your community. Walks can also help your child learn about the natural world. Simple walks to look at trees, gardens and flowers in your area can help him or her develop an appreciation for nature. After each walk, take time to talk about the experience with your child. Share something too. Or your child might like to draw a picture of what he or she recalls from the walk.
