Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO), an organization dedicated to serving the various interests of education, has honored the Detroit Public Schools Department of Environmental Health & Safety for its “Comprehensive Integrated Pest Management Program.”
Representatives from the Department of Environmental Health & Safety, which is headed by Felicia Venable, will receive the Meridian Award of Achievement at MSBO’s annual banquet on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids. A listing of the award winners will appear in the March issue of the MSBO Newsletter.
For winning the award, the department will also receive a plaque as well as a $750 contribution toward the District’s scholarship fund.
MSBO officials plan to present both the plaque and the check at a school board meeting this spring.
