Time To Enroll-Take A Look At Guyton Elementary!

The Guyton Elementary School students, staff, administration and community couldn’t be any happier about the fact that their school is not ‘on the list’
…the list of schools that will not open for the 2005-06 school year. To celebrate and to pump up their effort to recruit new, non-DPS students, they are holding an Enrollment Fair Saturday, July 30th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the school located at 355 Phillip. Enrollment also takes place from Tuesday through Thursday at the school. Parents who are looking for a DPS school that out performs the two Charter Schools in the area (Enterprise & Merit scored lower in three of the four MEAP testing subjects for 2005), and that is an historically high-achieving school, will find that Guyton fits the bill. The School also doesn’t lack for parental and community support. It was the cooperative efforts of the school staff and the Community Partners to Revitalize Guyton that convinced the District the school should get the chance to increase its enrollment. Their target number of students has been set…they’ve created the marketing plan…now all savvy parents have to do is bring their eager youngsters to Guyton, one of the jewels of a school in the DPS District. For information about enrollment, call the school at 313-866-3063. Remember, youngsters from Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Monroe Counties can attend.
