On Wednesday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m., you should be among the hundreds of adults and children who are going to witness an event that has not been seen or heard in Detroit in years. They will be in the audience at Cass Technical High School, waiting for the first note that begins the All-City High School Orchestra Concert performed by students from Cass Tech, Renaissance and the Detroit School for the Fine and Performing Arts. It will be a rare occasion made even more special by the presence of Maestro Thomas Wilkins, Resident Conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, who will conduct the students. In addition, the chamber ensembles from Cass and Renaissance will also perform under the direction of their respective conductors. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students in grades 9 – 12. Students in grade 8 and lower can enter for free. You can buy the tickets at Cass, Renaissance and DSA or at the door.
