Get A Little Dippy For The Students…

Come on! You can do it! At 4:00P.M. on Sunday, December 5th, the water around Belle Isle won't be THAT cold. It's just a little wade in…until you're completely covered with the 'invigorating' H2O of the Detroit River and then it's all over. Only takes a couple of minutes…and they'll have you revived in no time. But seriously, come on out and at least support the 14th Annual Dipps for Toys benefit to buy toys for 5,500 children at Nichols, Edmonson, Owen, Bellevue, Bunche, Ferry, Campbell, Moses Field, Berry, Dewey and Guyton Schools in the Detroit Public School District. The students need your help. The folks jumping in that cold water need your help. So help them with your tax deductible donation to the Honest? John's Shakedown Society (ID 38-301-7326), 488 Selden, Detroit, MI 48206. During the week after the 'Dip,' the 'Dippers' will buy and wrap the toys, the Detroit Police will deliver them, and the group will buy turkeys for a giveaway in January. Immediately after the 'Dip' there will be food, and the Luther 'Badman' Keith Blues Band will provide the entertainment. The event is on the up and up. A representative from the DPS Legal Department will be there….he'll be dippin'!
