NCLB Free Tutoring Selection Fairs

The Detroit Public Schools District has scheduled a set of two, Free Tutoring Selection Fairs for the parents of eligible students, which is the second step in securing Free Tutoring Services. These Fairs are only for parents who have registered their children in the No Child Left Behind Free Tutoring Program. Registration was the first step and it is now closed. The Fairs will give those parents with registered children an opportunity to make a choice about the location of the tutoring services. They will be able to choose to have their child receive the tutoring at his or her school or choose an outside provider that will tutor at the provider's location. The Fairs will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. on Monday, December 13th and Tuesday, December 14th at the District's Welcome Center, 3031 West Grand Blvd., the New Center One Bldg. If your child is registered in the No Child Left Behind Free Tutoring Program, you will receive an application in the mail on which you can make your tutoring location choice. You can bring that application with you to the Fair. Attending a Tutoring Selection Fair is a critical step in securing the Free Tutoring services. However, if you find that it is impossible to attend one of the Fairs, or you cannot return it to your child's school, you must return the completed application by noon, Tuesday, December 21st to the address on the application. If your child is registered and you need more information, call 313-873-3215.
