The members of the Crusaders Marching Band at Martin Luther King Jr. High School are going to get loud and beat on school equipment this weekend. As a matter of fact, there will be lots of students from different area schools doing exactly the same thing. But, nobody has a problem with it because they'll be competing in the school's Second Annual Drumline Competition and Exhibition which attracts drumlines from throughout the Metro Detroit area. Middle schoolers and High school musicians will compete for cash prizes and trophies as they play to literally…'beat the band.' It starts promptly at 2:00 on Friday, November 26th on the school grounds at 3200 East Lafayette. The Competition also doubles as a fundraiser to help pay off the balance on the school's new marching band uniforms and to finance a college tour planned in February of next year.
