Parent Enrichment Seminars !

There is no law that says that only students can be exposed to life enriching experiences. But the District has a law that says everyone, including parents, can use a little enrichment.

That’s why the DPS Department of Parent and Community Liaisons hosts a series of seminars focused on parents.

On Tuesday, September 21st, Kelvin Brown will talk about Safe Streets; on Thursday, September 23, Peg Upmeyer will discuss Life Cycles; on Tuesday, September 28th Karen Ridgeway will talk about Preparing Your Child For Exams and on Thursday, September 30, Diane Johnson will discuss Nutritional Information Guidelines That Affect Your Child.

All of the seminars take place in the Parent Resource Center, inside the Detroit Public Schools Welcome Center in the New Center One Building. It’s located at the corner of Second Ave. and West Grand Blvd., directly across from the Fisher Building. There are activities for children, special I AM DPS giveaways and dinner which is served for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The seminars last from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.

Space is limited so to reserve your seat now or to get more information about this and other parent activities, call 873-9974.
